Morzine boasts an Olympic sized outdoor swimming pool, with adjoining children's pool and a separate paddling pool. There is a water chute and plunge pool as well as a beach style volleyball court, garden and picnic area. The mountain lakes are filled with clear water allowing for swimming during the warmer months.
Sailing
Lac Leman is just half an hour's drive from the chalet and is ideal for dingy sailing.
The richness and variety of alpine lakes like Lake Montriond and Lake Geneva facilitate leisure sailing as well as more challenging options when the wind gets up. Whether you are just a beginner or an expert, there are any number of options including wake boarding, water skiing and windsurf ring: day-long hire, lessons, and perfection courses.
Canyoning is the art of hiking, climbing, or rappelling to the bottom of a river canyon to an exit point where you can hike out.
The idea is to follow the water downwards: over drops into pools, down chutes and through deep water.
This involves walking, scrambling, sliding, climbing and swimming. Vertical drops are either jumped or abseiled from bolts already in place. Become exhilarated as you abseil down waterfalls and slide along routes that can lead you underground.
Hydro-speeding
Lie face-down on a board and surf down the water rapids. This is a fast-paced sport where you slide down rivers using the speed of the current to explore cave pools along your way. Hydro-speeding sessions are guided and last about 2.5 hours. You must be a good swimmer to partake in this activity.
White Water Rafting
The one and a half hour decent down the Drones incorporates some exciting rapids.
Your instructor can demonstrate basic paddling techniques as you make a fast-flowing river descent in an 8-man raft. Great fun for family and friends, and very much a team effort. White water hot dogging is also an exciting option.
